Such penalties are not subject to protest or appeal.

Inclement Weather

  • NECXC Racing does not provide medical insurance for competitors, or spectators, and we urge you not to compete/attend without it.  Medical insurance is the sole responsibility of the competitor and participating spectators.

Rider / Track Rules

  1. A NECXC course may include trails, footpaths, roads, hills, motocross tracks, or any type of terrain which can be negotiated by a motorcycle or ATV.
  2. Riders are responsible for the actions of their entire pit crew.
  3. Riders must register for the race before riding their machine anywhere, may not exceed 1st gear idle when traveling to/from their pit area, and must always wear a helmet. Warm-up riding is limited to the start area and only after the rider has registered for the event and an official has given permission.
  4. Riders will receive two numbered helmet tags for scoring. Place them both on each chin side of the helmet; place the colored tag on the back of the helmet.
  5. Riders must obtain a transponder. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE TWO TRANSPONDERS ON.  Transponders can be purchased from the registration trailer.
  6. Riders must remain on the marked course. The marked course is within 25 feet of race arrows.  However, riders must stay within the confines of the following markers:  double arrows posted on both sides of the trail, ribbons, signs, stakes, hay bales, barrels, motocross track, grass track, etc. If a racer is caught off marked course or cutting marked course by an official, they will be disqualified.
  7. Riders encountering a traffic jam or bottleneck may go more than 25 feet off the course to get around the bottleneck only. However, the rider must re-enter the course as soon as possible, and upon approaching this section the next lap, must ride the original arrowed section if the track is clear. If the original marking devices are knocked down, the rider must stay on the original marked course regardless. A "bottleneck" is a section of the track that becomes impassable for any reason, except for checkpoints.
  8. If a rider leaves the course for any reason they must re-enter where they left the course. The machine a rider leaves the start line with is the official machine of the rider for that event and may not be switched during the event.  In either case the rider will be penalized.
  9. Riders may make repairs and otherwise receive mechanical assistance anywhere but scoring, along the course from anyone.  All such repairs and assistance must be made without causing interference with other riders and in a suitable area off the racetrack.  If a rider is towed off the track for any reason, they are not allowed to re-enter the race.  *Racers are not allowed to switch machines, you must start, participate & finish on the same one. Doing otherwise is subject to heavy penalties. *No pitting within the yellow pennant through the finish line.
  10. ABSOLUTELY NO TIRE STUDS!!!!!!
  11. Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Persons whose appearance, conduct, associations or affiliations, on or off the track, deemed harmful or not conducive to the best interest of the sport or who exhibit conduct, which is inappropriate, offensive, abrasive or in bad taste, may be excluded or suspended from NECXC at the discretion of the Race Promoter.

  • Top 20 Overall will be updated along with points throughout the season.

  • If the protesting participant is correct, they will receive their money back.
  • If a teardown of the machine is necessary, an official must be the participating mechanic.
  • If the protester is wrong the rider they protested will receive $300. If they are correct, they will receive $300 back.

Classes

  1. Riding out of Class: Riders must participate in their letter designated class. If you run an A, B or C class at any other event, you must run that same A, B or C class at our events. (Especially letter classes from a National Event.) *If the class does not have a letter, it is not a letter designated class.
  2. Mini Atvs - 70cc DRR will race with the 90cc 2-Stroke // Minibikes electric 50's must run the 50cc 2-stroke class.
  3. Buddy Up Class –Non-point class
    1. This class is for racers who wish to race for points with a partner. 1 buddy must complete at least 1 lap at the event. You will receive matching helmet numbers & may switch in your own pit area. You may switch out your partner with a new one once throughout the season.
    2. THIS CLASS IS A Non-CONTINGENT CLASS - this means it does not qualify for ANY NECXC partnered contingency programs or holeshot awards.
  4. Adult Bikes School Boy Racers -
    1. Racers who have done one or more of the following must compete in Schoolboy 1
    2. Have a previous finish of Top 20 Overall in an adult race
    3. Finishing Top 3 in schoolboy 2 of a previous season must move up to Schoolboy 1 the following season.
  5. Age classes –
    1. Mini & youth racers / Age classes are based on the age of the rider as of January 1st for that race season. Mini or youth racers may "race up" in an age class when they meet that age on said day of the event. Adult racers must use their age on the day of the event to choose an age class. School Boy classes are classified under "youth" for this rule.
    2. Youth racers may voluntarily advance to a higher age class, once they do so they will not be allowed to race back.
    3. Youth Bike racers may not advance to the adult division and then back to youth, this excludes schoolboy & sportsman (none points) when running both divisions. Ex. You can't run Open B 15+ then try to race 125cc Super in the youth.

*Riders who haven't raced in over 8yrs and wish to return to a lower class are those who are considered completely non-competitive in the class they are leaving and won't dominate the class in which they are moving too. Racers wishing to do this must receive permission from their district AND our promoters.
